The Nepalese People's War is a book written by Rishi Raj Baral.
We are at a time now when the Prachanda-Baburam led traitor faction in the party has dismissed all the achievements of the People's War, after surrendering to national-international reactionaries. That does not, however, diminish the importance of the great People's War. The great People's War was great, and will remain so. The Nepalese People had fought the superb ten-year long People's War under the leadership of the CPN (Maoist) at a time when the imperialists were making hue and cry that the relevance of the Communist movement had ended forever. The People's War had given impetus to the movement by imparting to the people a new hope, belief, energy and enthusiasm, and this War had at the same time terrorized the reactionaries worldwide.
It is said that the revolution and counter-revolution move neck to neck. Baburam had already been an evident character to epitomize himself as a representative of the Indian expansionism and the rightist opportunism. Even Prachanda chose to follow the same path as the People's War moved forward. It was after that that the revolutionaries began to get arrested one after another, and the rightists carried on. Because of opportunist and liquidationist cowardly nature of Prachanda, the Party took gradually to the rightist path after Chungwang meeting, and the act of betraying the people and the revolution was carried out under the leadership of Prachanda himself, who gave up the entire achievements of the People's War. There is at this moment a condition of the Maoist Party's revolutionaries being at one side while the ones, who chose to follow the path of betrayal, have all been camped out on the other side. In the latest phase, there is not a state of two-line struggle in the pa!
rty but the one of the class-struggle, where the Prachanda-Baburam led faction is vis-à-vis with the revolutionaries, who have joined the leadership of comrade Mohan Baidhya, and a condition of class-conflict between the two has turned out to be the starkest reality of the present time.
How may the history of the great ten-year long People's War be written! It is possible that this history will be portrayed in a twisted form. The traitors may even adapt it to suit their own foul intention. This book, which has been written with a purpose of keeping intact the narrative of the glorious history and of energizing the continuity of the People's War, will be presented to the readers very soon.
There are a total of 13 chapters in this book, which consists of about 300 pages. This book has been termed as an analytical study of the ten-year long People's War. Apart from the writer's statement, the book contains the following chapters: 1. Introduction, 2. The Communist Movement in Nepal, 3. The Beginning of the People's War: a Great Leap, 4. The Specific Aspects of Military Sectors, 5. The Inner Struggle and the Two-Line Struggle, 6. The People's War and the Formation of the New State-Pow.The People's War and the Expansionist-Imperialist Powers, (10) The People's War and the Cultural Revolution, 11.The People's War and the Information-Communication, 12.The People's War and the Question of Leadership, and 13. Conclusion.
The book has also included, as an appendix, some important document and materials in its last pages.
Samayabaddha, the bi-monthly magazine that is famous and established as a magazine of revolutionary idea, and The Next Front, the web magazine that has made itself known as a disseminator of revolutionary idea and information have published this book jointly.  Now it is available  in Nepalese vernacular and  very soon it is going to publish in English version too. We believe that this book will give a new energy for continuing the glorious legacy of the noble ten-year long People's War.
